About Little Stanion
Little Stanion is a popular, fast growing village with a number of newly built homes that has swelled the population which stood at 900 at the turn of the century. It is an ideal commuter location as it is a short drive from the A427 to the nearest town, Corby, and the A43 which leads to Kettering and Northampton.

Just a mile from the new development is Phoenix Retail Park which is a shoppers’ delight! Here you can find major high street stores such as Boots, Next and Matalan, and you can stock up on your groceries at Asda.
It is a lively village with a varied history. During World War II it featured in a propaganda film, ‘Springtime in an English Village’. It featured rural life in the 40s including the crowing of Queen of the May, the daughter of an African merchant seaman. Among the sights of interest is the 17th century 7 ft long whalebone in the village church which, according to tradition is the bones of a Dun Cow. Legend has it this fictional beast was conned by a witch and eventually died of a broken heart.
