Rock Climbing
Also in Milton Keynes, adventurous types can give indoor climbing a go at the Rock Climbing Centre on Mandeville Drive. It’s ideal for beginners as there’s a chance to climb low level boulders. However, the more experienced can enjoy an 11m climb with the use of safety ropes as a precaution. The centre is open for adults, and children aged three upwards, and you use coloured holds to make various climbs, depending on ability. It’s is a great way to enjoy a workout without having to go to the gym.

Scuba Diving
The Barrascuba Diving School is open for people of ages in the Kettering area and includes a members club offering UK and overseas trips. They offer a host of PADI training courses from Bubblemaker courses, for those aged eight years and above, to Advanced, Open Water, Rescue, Dive Master and speciality courses. The club meets weekly on Tuesdays at 8.30 pm, at the Hill, Wollaston, a thirty minute drive from our office at Ashan Property Letting Agents in Kettering.

There’s lots of opportunity for paintballing in and around Kettering including Go Ballistic, situated on a 170 acre site in Grafton Underwood, in the north east of Kettering, just off the A6116. It offers four gaming fields including a jungle zone or large battlefield and you can book morning, afternoon or day-long sessions. Meanwhile, Unique Pursuits Paintball, on Rushton Road, Desborough, organises paintball events on a 180 acre woodland site with a choice of adrenalin fuelled fields to battle in.

Indoor Karting
If you feel a need for speed, The Race Club UK in Corby, 25 miles from Kettering (roughly a 45 minute drive), is the place to head. Budding adults and junior race drivers can beat their speeds on the multi-level track which has challenging hairpin bends and a fun-fuelled tunnel. A spell at the indoor track makes a great family day out, whatever the weather, and it is also ideal for parties, corporate events or team building.

Canoeing
Further afield at the Nene Whitewater Centre, Bedford Road, Northampton (a thirty minute drive from Kettering), is a chance to enjoy white knuckle canoeing on fast flowing water, over rocks and even the occasional waterfall. If you are a beginner or aren’t quite so confident for rapid water rides, you can book try-out sessions on the River Nene in the spring and summer months. Winter canoe sessions are also available on Fridays, until late, at Mounts Swimming Pool.
