Cransley Sailing Club

Located in a scenic valley just a few minutes outside of Kettering, Cransley Sailing Club is found in a peaceful 40 acre reservoir which has a huge amount of wildlife. This is a small but welcoming club, which offers training to new sailors of all ages. Here they sail boats such as Toppers, Picos, Bugs, Bahias, Lasers and Wayfarers, to suit people of all sizes and abilities. Cransley Sailing Club holds races every Saturday and Sunday afternoons from March until November, where you can see skilled sailors glide effortlessly across the water.

Nene Whitewater Centre

The Nene Whitewater Centre is the UK’s first pumped artificial whitewater course, where you can learn how to navigate fast flowing waters with ease. The course has adjustable water pumps to alter the course to suit each individual’s abilities, and to help you to slowly gain confidence as you shoot around the course. This is found on Bedford Road, not far from Kettering, and is a brilliant way for adults to try something new and adventurous.

Kettering Sea Cadets

First established in 1854, this group has a charitable status which enables them to raise funds to meet their running costs. They work to celebrate Britain’s maritime heritage by instructing young people under a naval theme, while also trying to contribute to the future development by supporting young people as Sea Cadets. Young people can learn valuable life skills while here, as well as a sense of self-discipline and pride in everything that they go on to achieve.

Kettering Amateur Swimming Club

Kettering Amateur Swimming Club is home to Kettering Water Polo Club, which has around 30 players who range in age from 10 to 70, with a whole range of abilities. They welcome all newcomers, and encourage their members to enjoy the game rather than focusing on the competitiveness of it. This polo club has been around since 1914, when it was first established in Victoria Baths in Bath Lane Kettering. They now train under expert coaching at London Road, where they moved in 1984.
