Period Properties
If you are looking for a Victorian or Edwardian style family homes to let, there are plenty of these in Kettering. From substantial family homes within easy reach of excellent schools and the railway station, to terraced properties, you can find homes to let with beautiful period features in the Kettering area.
The town was a centre for the boot and shoe industry in the 19th century, which is one of the reasons why there are many Victorian and Edwardian style homes to let. The larger homes were for the factory owners and can be found in the London Road/Headlands area, whereas the terraces were for the workers, and you can find some two or three bedroom Victorian terraces within the same area, or even beautiful and spacious bay fronted townhouses on tree-lined avenues.
Also in that part of town are some sizeable homes that have been converted into flats and these benefit from being close to the railway station, for commuters, and within easy reach of the hospital which is one of the major employers. Many of these types of properties are also within walking distance of the town centre. And, although they are converted properties, they benefit from modern facilities and some have communal grounds in addition to either on or off-street parking.
Modern Houses
There are some significant modern developments that have sprung up in recent years, in the centre of town, and on the outskirts. These include three bedroom end terrace homes in the centre, and two bedroom properties in the popular Leisure Village which is within walking distance of the town centre and also has easy access to the railway station and the A14.
Among the many other recent out-of-town developments are Mawsley – a newly built village with its own school, doctor’s surgery and village hall – and River View, Barton Seagrove, where you can rent substantial family houses.
